Russia's Military Transport Aviation revealed that this year, they will add three more Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft to the first two received in 2016. Il-76MD-90A has been designed for parachuting and landing of military personnel, military equipment, cargoes, fuel and containers. Explaining that the thrust-weight ratio and chassis of the aircraft have been enhanced as well as its carrying capacity, Commander of the Military Transport Aviation, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Benediktov said that the service planned to receive the first two models of the modernized Il-76MD-M aircraft in 2018, which is a kind intermediate platform between Il-76MD and Il-76MD-90A.
