Officially submitting its proposal, Boeing has become the first competitor on the US Air Forces' T-X trainer replacement programme. Boeing offering for T-X is a twin-seat single-engined platform developed with Saab. The platform, designated as BTX, features a 'glass' cockpit and an open systems architecture. The first flight of the aircraft was conducted on 20 December 2016.
