Arming via donations ant direct procurement agreements from Russia, which is main arms supplier, Serbia has announced that it has received its first air defense systems.
According to a report published in the Russian Sputnik News Agency, Serbia, which announced that it would acquire the Pantsir air defense system, received the first batch delivery. Serbia, which is planned to receive a total of six Pantsir air defence system last year, is expected to add other vehicles to its inventory in 2020.
Pantsir-S1 air defence systems, which serve in many countries' inventory, can perform field defense tasks integrated or independent of an air defence umbrella thanks to the radar, automatic cannon and missile systems.
