The US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a possible foreign military sale (FMS) of Mk 41 Baseline VII strike-length vertical launching systems (VLS) to Finland.

The planned FMS is valued at roughly $70m and has been approved by the US State Department.

The proposed sale is intended to enhance Finland’s security capabilities and will also cover US Government and contractor engineering, in addition to training, technical, and logistical support services and other associated logistical support.

Lockheed Martin Corporation has been appointed to serve as the principal contractor for the possible sale.
