China has launched the fifth Yuzhao-class landing platform dock (LPD) vessel on 15 June at Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). 

The Type 071 LPD is primarily deployed in amphibious landing missions and can also conduct humanitarian aid and civilian evacuation missions. 210-meter long vessel has a displacement of more than 20 thousand tonnes and can accommodate up to four medium-lift helicopters in its hangar. With a maximum speed of 25kt, the vessel has a range of 10 thousand nautical miles at 18kt. The maximum endurance of the vessel is 60 days. The first-of-class Kunlun Shan (998) was launched in December 2006 and commissioned in November 2007.
