The Republic of Korea claimed that a North Korean missile test carried out on Wednesday was failed. The US Pacific Command confirmed Seoul's claims by stating that a North Korean missile launch attempt in the vicinity of Kalma was detected and assessed to be a failure as the missile appeared to have exploded within seconds of launch. The Republic of Korean Defence Ministry did not identify the type of missile used in the test.
