Sweden awarded a $358,5 million contract to Saab Dynamics for the development and production of a next-generation, extended range RBS15 anti-ship missile on 31 March. The missile will have both air-launched and ship-launched configurations. Saab will also reduce the weight of the missile and enhance its airframe to extend its range. The new missiles will be used on the Royal Swedish Navy's Visby-class corvettes and Swedish Air Force JAS Gripen E multi-role fighters.
