The new address of the Eurofighter Typhoons, which currently serve in the inventory of many countries, was Kuwait. In the past days, the procurement process of the aircraft has been brought up again in the country.
The Kuwait parliament opened an investigation for Eurofighter Typhoons, which procurement process dating back to September 2015. Although the investigation process that started due to the high cost is already at a deadlock due to COVID-19, the repercussions of the budgets allocated for procurement continue. The committee, set up for the investigation, reported that Qatar funded $ 6.23 billion for 24 Eurofighter Typhoon; Saudi Arabia has allocated a budget of 8.86 billion USD for the acquisition of 72 Eurofighter Typhoons in older variants, the board underlined that Oman's 24 Eurofighter Typhoon procurement from the UK costs 2.24 billion USD.
According to the report prepared by the Committee, the unit cost of the aircraft is currently 110 million USD to other countries. However, this amount has reached 321 million USD in Kuwait's procurement process.
