Turkish newspaper Akşam reported that on October 13, 2017, the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries signed a contract with BMC to develop 'New Generation Light Armored Vehicle Power Group'. The process officially commenced on 4 January 2018 to meet the requirements of the project.
The project aims to meet the need of the power group of new generation tracked light armoured vehicles with local sources including design, develop, prototype production, test and qualification.
