The UK plans to retire its Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 1 aircraft early.
The 24 Tranche 1 aircraft used by the Royal Air Force are normally expected to remain in service until 2040, but due to the high costs of modernizing these aircraft to the FGR 4 configuration, the UK has announced that it plans to retire the jets in 2025.
With a fuselage life of 6,000 hours, 24 Eurofighter Typhoons have flown only 2544 hours in RAF service.
This creates the possibility of selling planes that have only flown 40% of their fuselage life.
