TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil has been a guest on C4Defence's Instagram account. Kotil made important statements about the Heavy Attack Helicopter Project.

In the Heavy Attack Helicopter, the process is proceeding at full speed. Stating that a full-scale model (mock-up) was produced within the scope of the project, Kotil announced that the studies for developing a more original system for verification flights are also progressing rapidly. It was stated that Atak-2, which is planned to make its first flight in four years, will have a built-in radar, but it has not been decided yet whether it will be Mildar or another system. It was announced that a 3000 HP class engine will be used on the platforms, an imported engine will be integrated in the first place, but the development of an dömestic engine with the project is on the agenda. While underlining that TEI does a good job in the 1600 HP class engine, a green light was also given to the use of a domestic engine in the new platform.

While Kotil stated that the Gökbey helicopter will be delivered on October 29, 2021 and there will be no delay in the process, he marked the end of 2020 for the first flight of T629.
