Fincantieri has delivered the last two of four Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) to the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on 12 October. The company has converted and upgraded four former Italian Navy corvettes into offshore patrol vessels for Bangladesh and delivered the first two in August 2016.
The two OPVs had been retired from the national fleet in March 2016, then upgraded and converted at Fincantieri’s dock in Genova with an extension of the lifespan by more than twenty years.
