January 19, 2020China tested a new heavy-duty drone with three engines
According to Chinese media, on January 16, 2020, a heavy three-engine unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Chinese company Tengoen Technology made its maiden flight at one of the airfields in southwest China. The Chinese company Tengoen Technology (also known as Tengdun) was founded in 2016. The new unmanned aerial vehicle is a three-engine UAV built on a two-fuselage scheme. Its wingspan is 20 m, length – 10, height – 3.3 m. The maximum take-off weight reaches 3200 kg, with a payload mass exceeding one and a half tons. The maximum ceiling is 9.5 km, cruising speed is more than 300 km per hour, and the flight duration is 35 hours. The drone was initially designed for civilian use (aerial photography, atmospheric research, pipeline inspection, cargo delivery and even sports photography). But it is possible to use it for military purposes. The new drone can take off with maximum load from the runway less than 500 meters long.
