People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) released a video of the US air base on the Pacific island of Guam being virtually targeted at a time of heightened regional tensions in Asia, based on actual images supported by animations.
“H-6K war god goes on the offensive!” the video shared, simulated by nuclear-armed H-6 bombers attacking the U.S. Base in Guam. The island of Guam is seen as a base where the United States can respond shortly in any conflict in the Asia Pacific region.
“We are the defenders of the motherland’s aerial security; we have the confidence and ability to always defend the security of the motherland’s skies,” the PLAAF wrote in a brief description for the video.
Taiwan's Air Force, meanwhile, said Chinese H-6 aircraft had recently made numerous harassment flights around Taiwan.
A U.S. State Department official visited Taiwan on September 17, 2020; China had warned the United States of possible consequences.
