The AR500C rotary wing UAV developed by China to deploy on plateaus completed its first flight test.

The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), has developed the AR500C with a maximum speed of 170 kilometres and a maximum take-off weight of 500 kilograms, according to the country's needs. The drone, which will be used for high-altitude reconnaissance and surveillance missions, successfully conducted its first flight test.

According to local media reports, China will use the drone against India on its southwest border.

The platform, which is expected to be on a high-altitude reconnaissance and communications relay mission, can detect nuclear radiation and chemical pollution when equipped with additional devices.
