Boeing To Begin Block 2 Tests Earlier Than Planned

Boeing revealed plans on 18 May to test the prototype CH-47 Chinook Block 2 helicopters in the next two years. The new configuration will have an increased lift capability, as stated in US Army requirements, via Advanced Chinook Rotor Blade (ACRB), testing of which has been completed two weeks ago.Upon completion of the ACBR tests, Boeing will be able to commence the flight tests of Block 2 prototypes, one year earlier than initial plan of 2020.  

The company plans to begin deliveries of the retrofitted Chinook Block 2s in 2023.
