Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense has announced that it has signed an agreement with the United States on military technology transfer and military sales.

Under the agreements, Lockheed Martin's Missile and Fire Control Department will provide to Taiwanese defense industry military grade titanium processing and avitation technology transfer. In addition, Taiwan will procure an upgrade package for the Patriot PAC-2s in the inventory and six sets of MIM-104F Patriot PAC-3.

It is expected that Taiwan will use these technologies at improve the effectiveness of its weapon systems, which it is currently developing, and to improve its armor capabilities.

The price of the deal is said to be about 6 billion US dollars. It is expected that the delivery of new fixtures and upgrade kits will take place in 2021.
