Baykar’s Armed UAV TB2 Flew 200 thousand Hours

Bayraktar Tactical Armed/ UAV System TB2 developed by Baykar Defence for use in the execution of reconnaissance and intelligence missions reached 200,000 flight hours. The system, armed for Turkish Armed Forces (Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri/ TSK) provides reconnaissance, aerial observation, target detection and destruction.

According to the company, the TB2 flew 200,000 hours, making it the first national aircraft to serve in the sky for the longest time. It can carry four MAM-L and MAM-C ammunitions produced by Roketsan on the platform wings.

TB2 Tactical Armed/ UAV System, which flew as a fleet in droves for the first time in Operation Peace Spring, took off for more than 2,000 hours in Idlib, Syria. The armed UAV, who escorted the Fatih and Yavuz drilling vessels in the Eastern Mediterranean from the air for safety, are also involved in the protection of the Mavi Vatan (Blue Homeland). Mavi Vatan covers the seas surrounding Turkey and the territories that are claimed. 

Gürcan Okumuş, who is the TÜBİTAK SAGE (Savunma Sanayii Araştırma ve Geliştirme Enstitüsü / Defence Industries Research and Development Instute) Institute Director, was a guest on live stream at C4Defence's Instagram account. He explained that miniature smart ammunition Bozok was thrown from TB2.
