April 11, 2018Bangladesh’s 4th Corvette Launched
China's Wuchang Shipbuilding has launched the fourth and final Shadhinota-class (Type C13B) Corvette for the Bangladesh Navy on 8 April. Dubbed BNS Prottasha (F114), the 90-metre long vessel was launched two months after the third ship of the class, BNS Shongram.
The first two ships, BNS Shadhinota (F111) and BNS Prottoy (F112), has been commissioned into the Bangladesh Navy in March 2016. Type C13B corvettes are based on Type 056 corvettes. The vessel has a displacement of 1,330 tonnes and can reach a top speed of 25 knots.
