Bahrain signed a $3,8 billion contract with Lockheed Martin for 16 F-16V fighter jets, the state-run BNA news agency reported on Tuesday.
The Government of Bahrain had requested new F-16V aircraft from the US, along with simulators, training, spare parts and maintenance support which was announced by the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency on 8 September. The initial request was for 19 aircraft with an estimated cost of $2,785 billion.
