Production started at Europe’s first cylindrical lithium-ion battery facility, established by ASPİLSAN Energy with an investment of 1.5 billion.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank made inspections at the facility. Regarding his facility visit, Varank said, “The energy industry is going through a great change and transformation. There is a very serious transformation in the energy sector, especially with the electrification of automobiles. Lithium-ion batteries are also very important players in this transformation. We support investments in terms of lithium-ion batteries in Türkiye.  We supported this investment of ASPİLSAN with our incentives.”

Varank said, “The 18650 model can produce 24 thousand of these batteries a day at this facility, and they are currently increasing the production.” He gave information about the production capacity of the facility.
