The Weekly Press Briefing of the Ministry of National Defense (MoD) was held at ASELSAN’s Gölbaşı Campus on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary. Providing members of the press with information about the institution’s activities, MoD Press and Public Relations Advisor Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk emphasized that ASELSAN has become a global power with its “game-changing” technologies developed across a wide spectrum ranging from air defense to electronic warfare.
More Than 100,000 Products in Use in 95 Countries
Rear Admiral Aktürk stated that ASELSAN has acted with the goal of reducing foreign dependency since its establishment and drew attention to the global scale the company has reached. He noted that the institution, which brought to life the “Oğulbey Technology Base,” the largest defense industry investment in the history of the Republic, is today a trusted asset for friendly and allied countries with more than 100,000 active products in use in 95 countries. It was recorded that ASELSAN has risen to the position of a worldwide brand with the radars, avionics systems, and command and control solutions it designs and produces.
SİPER and HİSAR-A Entering the Inventory
During the meeting, delivery plans for new systems that will increase the firepower and defense capacity of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) were also shared. In the upcoming period, it is planned to add various quantities of the Long-Range Regional Air and Missile Defense System SİPER, the Low-Altitude Air Defense Missile System HİSAR-A, the Low-Altitude Radar ALP 100-G, and 35 mm Modernized Towed Gun units to the TSK inventory. The development of these systems with domestic capabilities is of critical importance in terms of Turkey’s goals of a fully independent defense industry.
