Armored Vehicle Boost to Lebanon

The US has delivered the first eight M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles to Lebanese Army on 14 August out of 32 ordered. The armored vehicles are part of a total order valued at more than $100 million. Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, the US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard revealed the other defence articles delivered to the Lebanese Army in the last 12 months, including 40 M198 howitzers, 50 armored Humvees, one thousand 100 machine guns and 4 thousand M4 rifles, emphasizing the US commitment to Lebanon in counter-terrorism operations. 

Richard added that the Army would undergo intensive training on how to operate and maintain this new combat system over the next several months.
