The development, the President of Defence Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced on his social media account: “Our goal is a Türkiye that is ahead, not lagging behind in every field of the defence industry! We have left one more stage behind in the tests of the #ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System, which will have an important place in our laser and electromagnetic activities that few countries are working on. ALKA, consisting of a high-powered laser weapon with an electromagnetic jamming system, a target detection radar, and a target tracking system, provided superior detection, tracking and destruction in seconds against ground and air targets. Congratulations to all involved.”

ALKA serves as a Very Close Hybrid Air Defence System that uses electromagnetic and laser technology against asymmetric threats. With its system, it ensures that threats are prevented with an Electromagnetic Jamming Weapon (EJW) and destroyed with a Laser Weapon.
