Akıncı UCAV in TAF Inventory

The Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TİHA) Bayraktar, designed, developed and manufactured by Baykar Defence, was delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces with a ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reminded that they could not buy these systems with their money about 10 years ago, and that the purchased ones were not sent back for a long time when they went to the relevant country for maintenance.

“The same circles are talking about the game-changing Turkish UAVs on the field and their breakthrough.” The President said:

“Our goal now is to develop UCAVs that can take off and land on our own short-runway aircraft carriers. Hopefully, by achieving this, we will have the competence to use our UCAVs in oversea missions. Of course, in addition to all of these, we continue our National Combat Aircraft and unmanned warplane projects meticulously. We are determined to make Turkey the pioneer country, especially in unmanned aircraft technology. When we achieve this, we will be one step ahead of those 5th generation warplanes that were not given to us.”

After the speeches at the ceremony, the certificates were given to the personnel who successfully completed the UCAV piloting course and graduated.

Baykar Defense General Manager Haluk Bayraktar and Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir presented Akıncı’s delivery document to President Erdoğan.

Later, President Erdoğan commanded Akıncı for a while in the command and control center.
