Airbus is working to expand the Eurofighter Typhoon family. In this context, the company offered aircraft to Latin America instead of the Kfirs, which are en of their economic life.
In order to replace the Kfir which at the end of their active duty life, Airbus knocked on Colombia's door with the recommendation of Eurofighter Typhoon. According to Iván Gonzalez Head of Combat Aircraft Campaigns at Airbus Group, the company offered a total of 15 Tranche 3 models Typhoons, which are 12 of them single seater.
In the past, in Colombia, acquired 23 Kfirs. The opponents of Typhoons were specified as F-16V Block 70/72 and JAS-39 E / F Gripen aircraft.
