The US Department of Defense has signed an agreement with BAE Systems Land and Armaments for the upgrade of Bradley vehicles to M2A4 and M7A4 Bradley level. Under the agreement of $ 347 million, 164 Bradleys will upgrade to M2A4 and M7A4 Bradley levels. It is expected that number of the vehicles for upgrade program can be up to 473. M2A4 and M2A7 Bradley which are developed from M2A3 Operation Desert Storm variant, provide greater situational awareness and protection than their predecessor. Platforms with 25 millimeters M242 Bushmaster main gun and 7,62 millimeter M240 coaxial machine gun are capable of detect, identify and track enemy targets from longer distances with their sensors.
