The US Navy has signed a contract with Boeing for seven EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft and five F/A-18E Super Hornet strike fighters. The US Naval Air Systems Command revealed on a February 27th announcement that a fixed-price incentive-contract was signed with Boeing valued $ 678.7 million. The US Navy replaced all EA-6B Prowler aircraft with EA-18G Growlers. Additional aircraft will increase the combat capabilities of the air force. Currently, there are 5 Growlers per squadron, which will also increase with additional aircraft. The Super Hornets were ordered to fill the attack aircraft shortage in the US Navy and Marine Corps.
