STM, the domestic and national power of the Turkish defense industry, has completed domestic deliveries of the fixed-wing kamikaze UAV system ALPAGU. Ready for use in just one minute and capable of precision target elimination using artificial intelligence, ALPAGU will enhance operational effectiveness on the battlefield.
STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., which develops domestic and modern systems in the Turkish defense industry, has added a new delivery to its tactical UAV portfolio. The fixed-wing national strike UAV system ALPAGU, also known publicly as the Kamikaze UAV, has been successfully delivered domestically.
Having made its first export in 2023, ALPAGU is becoming one of the critical systems in the inventory of security forces.

STM General Manager Güleryüz: ALPAGU Will Increase Operational Power

Commenting on the deliveries, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that the tactical UAV family, developed with national engineering power, reinforces the strength of security forces in the field.
Güleryüz said, “Following our observation, strike, and munition-dropping UAVs, we continue deliveries with our fixed-wing strike UAV system ALPAGU. We assess that ALPAGU will enhance our operational effectiveness on the field.”
Light Structure, Heavy Impact: ALPAGU’s Technical Features and Mission Capability
ALPAGU, which means “a brave warrior attacking the enemy alone” in Old Turkish, stands out with its advanced technical features. Its lightweight structure, high dive speed, rapid velocity, and low radar cross-section enable precision destruction of critical targets. With a range of 8 kilometers, the system can actively participate in counter-terrorism operations, cross-border missions, and urban combat scenarios. The Fixed-Wing Strike UAV System consists of three main components: the Launcher, the Ground Control Station, and the UAV itself. Its electro-optical and infrared cameras enable effective operations both day and night.
Precision Targeting with Artificial Intelligence
ALPAGU is designed to provide operational superiority with its technological capabilities. After launch from the launcher, the system flies for approximately 15 minutes and tracks targets successfully using AI-assisted advanced image processing software. Its low radar cross-section and small size make it undetectable until the final moments, allowing it to destroy targets with precision using its onboard munition. The system also includes MIL-STD-331 compatible electronic approach fuzes, mission re-targeting, and self-destruction capabilities. The image-processing-based fire control system further enhances its precision strike ability.
ALPAGU can be easily carried by a single operator and set up within just one minute on the operational field. Its stealth and ability to deliver explosives precisely to the target provide security forces with a significant force multiplier and operational advantage.
