The Presidency of Defence Industries announced the delivery of Şahingözü-OD from the official social media account to the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command. The system developed by ASELSAN for precise detection and surveillance of threats equipped with a 2nd generation thermal camera and high sensitivity day camera and it can be used in day-night and adverse weather conditions.” description given.
Consisting of a thermal imager, day camera, laser rangefinder, digital magnetic compass and GPS based location finder components, the system allows use in any environment conditions day and night. Şahingözü-OD, which has 360-degree surveillance capability with its horizontal and vertical orientation unit, can detect target coordinates precisely. In addition, the system has additional features such as continuous zoom and autofocus. Şahingözü-OD, developed by ASELSAN with domestic facilities, can measure ranges from 100 to 20,000 metres. The system can be used anywhere with its portable structure.
