Designed for operations carried out at high altitude, the AR500C unmanned helicopter successfully completed its first flight. China's platform, which it plans to deploy along the border with India, has developed the China State Aviation Industry Corporation of China/AVIC. The AR500C will be used for high altitude reconnaissance, communication relay and electronic warfare. The maximum speed of the platform is 170 kilometres an hour, the maximum take-off weight is 500 kilograms.
