Thanks to their fast and agile movement capabilities, the use of 8×8 wheeled vehicles, which is characterized as rapid reaction missions and flat geography, is becoming widespread.
Poland, which has been working on replacing the Soviet era platforms with new generation domestic vehicles in its inventory, has announced a new procurement intention. Polish Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak announced the intention with “We plan to purchase 60 Rosomak-S wheeled armored personnel carriers for handling portable Spike kits. We want to conclude the agreement in the third quarter of this year. This is another contract with the Polish defense industry that will strengthen the Armed Forces.” phrases from his official Twitter account.
Rosomak-S is known as the family's armoured personnel carrier version. The platforms are suitable for the transfer of anti-tank teams equipped with Spike missiles. The Rosomak product family was developed on Patria AMV. Vehicles in 8×8 configuration can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h. It is spoken in the defence backstages that Rosomak-S will be deployed to the eastern border, where the tank threat is high.
