The Republic of Korea received the new tank landing ship. ROKS Nojeokbong (689) was put into service last Wednesday with a ceremony held at the Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan.
The fourth platform of the Cheonwangbong-Class tank landing ships can reach a maximum speed of 23 knots. The ship, capable of transporting a 300 presonnel-troops and can carry landing crafts and eight amphibious vehicles. Ship has also has a command center to support the amphibious operations, has been developed within the scope of the high-speed long-range support ship program
