Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Bekir Bozdag said: “Next year, we will spend an additional 17-18 billion TL on fighting terrorism, which will be transferred directly to our Ministry of National Defence.” In 2017, 28 billion 702 million 119 thousand budget was reserved for defence expenditures. According to Bozdag's statement, the budget allocated for defence in 2018 will grow by 62 percent and exceed 45 billion TL.
