The Belgian government has approved a plan to
modernize Belgische Luchtmacht / Force Aerienne Belge (Belgian Air Force) aging
F-16 fleet by 2030, but at a cost of a reduction in personnel. Cost of upgrade
will be $10 billion however there will be a decrease in the military and
civilian workforce from 32,000 to 25,000. The Belgian Air Force was one of the
first four international customers for the F-16 Fighting Falcon. These
aircrafts are block 15 standards.
French soldiers scan the horizon for possible threats with the French weapon system during exercise Ramstein Legacy 22. NATO and partner nations are taking part in exercise Ramstein Legacy 22, a NATO large-scale live-fire air defence exercise. Seventeen Allied and partner countries trained in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland with aircraft, missile defence systems and electronic warfare systems from 6 to 10 June 2022.
