In June last year, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea Facebook account announced that United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials would make a visit as part of the Cheongung KM-SAM Block-II missile interception and surface-to-surface missile procurement.
Photos of UAE and Korean soldiers conducting field tests with the Korean-made Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) K239 K-MLRS were shared.
The system designed and manufactured by Hanwha Defense has two ramp transport compartments.
In addition to being equipped with uniform ammunition, the K-MLRS can be transformed into two rocket launcher configurations of different diameters in side-by-side compartments.
Development of MLRS began in 2009, and the first vehicle was produced in 2013.
The system has been in the inventory of the Korean Armed Forces since 2015.
