The US Air Force has placed an order for structural modification kits for the T-38C Pacer Classic III aircraft, CPI Aerostructures announced on 25 September. The purchase orders worth approximately $2 million.
Under a contract awarded in February 2015, CPI Aerostructures is providing structural components, programme management, logistics, discrepancy reporting/resolution and sub-contract management as part of a modification programme designed to enhance T-38C operational capability while improving flight safety, reliability, and maintainability.
The T-38C is a twin-engine, two-seat, supersonic jet trainer used by Air Education Training Command as an advanced trainer in specialised undergraduate pilot training.
