The Indian Navy is set to commission its new diesel-electric submarine INS Kalvari before the end of this month, following completion of the final sea trials. The first of six Scorpene-class submarines, INS Kalvari was built at Mazagon Docks Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) in Mumbai. Launched in October 2015, the new submarine commenced its sea trials in May last year.
