AG600 Conducts First Taxi Tests

The first ground tests of the world's largest amphibious aircraft, Chinese AG600 has been conducted on 29 April. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) said that other tests and check-ups were under way.  The 37-metre-long plane is epected to carry out its maiden flight in May. AG600 is the largest amphibious aircraft in the world and designed for marine rescues and battle forest fires. The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 53.5 tonnes. It can collect 12 tonnes of water in 20 seconds, and transport up to 370 tonnes of water on a single tank of fuel.
