Kongsberg Reinforcement for Air Defence

Norway is to provide the Army with a Mobile Ground Based Air Defence System, announced during a press conference held on 6 February. According to Norwegian Ministry of Defence, the Defence Materiel Agency will first define the final configuration with the supplier Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace which will be followed by signing acquisition contract. Deliveries are planned to be completed by 2021.

Kongsberg's Army Ground Based Air Defence will use NASAMS, which contains a BMC4I (Battle Management, Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence) Air Defense capability through the integration of sensors and launchers. It employs the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AIM-120) as the primary weapon.
