AUMV Period in Blue Homeland

ARES Shipyard based in Antalya and Ankara-based Meteksan Defense, has introduced Turkey’s first solutions of Unmanned Marine Vehicles (UMV) in the field of defense. ARES Shipyard General Manager Utku Alanç and Meteksan Defense General Manager Selçuk Alparslan gave information about the opening of the Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (AUMV) at a joint press conference.

The Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle (AUMV), whose prototype production will be completed in December, will be the first platform of the “ULAQ” series. The first vehicle of the series, AUMV, will have a cruising range of 400 kilometers, a speed of 65 kilometers per hour (35 knots), day / night vision capability, and a national encrypted communication infrastructure. AUMV produced from composite material will take part in missions such as Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Intelligence, Surface Warfare, Asymmetric Warfare, Armed Escort and Force Protection, and Strategic Facility Security. The vehicle will be commanded from land by mobile vehicles and from the headquarters command center or from floating platforms such as aircraft carriers and frigates.
